Traverse data structures

Data is rarely in isolated. There are certain relationships between all data. Very often you are not looking for the data itself, but for related data. By means of datanames you can easily request that data.

Suppose you have an order in your webshop. What you actually want to show is the name of the person who placed that order. The account of the person that placed the order is listed under "account@order". Using that dataname we can go to the account itself. With the generic dataname "name@basic" we can then retrieve the name of that person. The complete dataname would be:

"account@order > name@basic"

Where we actually say: follow the relationship via "account@order" and then give the name of the element using "name@basic". You can put as many steps in succession as necessary to reach the data you are looking for.
